Don’t work too hard!

The weekend is over, and my human is back at the office, so I can rest peacefully. I worked hard this weekend.

My human decided that the gravel peak in the backyard must go. So she started a new project — landscaping the area behind the house.

Corporate always preaches initiative and unpaid overtime. So I clocked in without being asked. Put in the extra hours, and don’t ask unnecessary questions. So I did.

I dug like it was a matter of life or death. The peak got smaller and smaller, and I waited for senior leadership to acknowledge the milestone. But my mum just stood there in mud-stained sneakers… She looked at the completed work, approved the efficiency, and immediately authorized an upgrade: a larger shovel, more work, and zero adjustment to the hourly rate.

Well, lesson learned. Don’t work too hard. The reward for digging a great hole is just a bigger shovel.

Currently unavailable for comment. Out of office until Friday.

The Art of Total Denial

When you get caught, deny it. By all means, deny everything. Look away, drop the evidence, and confidently delegate the responsibility.
